About Zuza

Hi, I’m Zuza, the founder of Yoga Amigas. I’m a certified yoga instructor and professional actress with an insatiable appetite for adventure,  spiritual development and techniques to expand my  consciousness.

A few years ago whilst immersed in my acting career and coping with the daily stresses of city living and expectations to conform to the modern capitalistic lifestyle, I decided to take a time out and embark on a journey of self-exploration to learn more about my inner self, the benefits of active living, the role of nutrition and practical lifestyle choices to further my personal development on all levels.  That path led me to various ideas and methodologies of how to feel free and ‘alive’ . Randomly (or as the universe meant it to be) it took me on a van trip travelling through Europe with a good friend with no final destination but one that brought me to Fuerteventura, where I now call home.

My first yoga class was in 2015 when I was studying acting in a prestigious film school, when life was much simpler.

I enjoyed it a lot but it was really in the Covid lockdown era when I fell in love with the practice and decided to become a teacher myself. I had realised how powerful yoga was in my daily life and beneficial in my acting world. For a year I studied yoga intensely at the Yoga Zoliborz School  in Warsaw and became a certified Integral Yoga teacher.

I found yoga to be a mechanism to release tension and stress and a distraction from unwanted thoughts and noise circling in my head.

When not acting I was teaching yoga at the One Yoga school in Warsaw. Having arrived in Fuerteventura I continued my teaching practice and offered classes on the beach and at a local yoga studio at sunrise and sunset which proved very popular. I integrated these classes into a retreat program initially for groups by request only and for friends. I fulfilled one of my dreams and travelled to the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in India to further my yogic knowledge and qualify in a broader range of Yoga styles. I now incorporate elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga and Pranayama yoga into my Integral yoga base.  I am now a devout advocate to the holistic approach used in these yoga practices to promote positive personal growth and development – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Yoga Amigas

My goal now is to empower others through this evolving alignment based yoga practice.

I want to share this knowledge with each person who wants to open their heart, free their spirit and cultivate body awareness to embrace their unique gifts, and give students a deep understanding and appreciation of the possibilities of where their own yoga practice can lead them to.

Through teaching and guidance from Indian teachers I have developed an intricate knowledge of yoga’s importance and contribution to facilitate our personal wellness and its role in preventative health and improved functioning of the body’s own healing systems which helps us achieve a healthy balance in our daily lives. My practice, which we will share together,  has become much more than just physical movement, taking on a more spiritual role with breath work, meditation and other distinctly inward-focused practices at its very centre and core. My goal now is to empower others through this evolving alignment based yoga practice.
